This is an editable sensory circuit random choice generating powerpoint!
I have added the activities I use with my class for alerting, organising and calming, but you can add your own.
A sensory circuit at the start of the day helps the class to get moving (as they may have been on transport for a while), learn where their bodies are and calm down ready to learn.

This is a visual resource to support students in matching pennies to amounts up to 10p.
I have used mine in shop role play for Personal Progress accreditation ‘Understanding what money is used for’ and also for Progression Step 3.
Could also be used as a TEACCH activity when laminated and velcro added (what would TEACCH be without velcro?!)
I hope you find it useful.

Hi, thank you for looking.
This is a sensory story more suitable for SLD, MLD , primary students.
The creation story from Benin has been simplified and sensory inputs recommended.
Sensory stories are short and best repeated a number of times.

To support students learning descriptive vocabulary; stripy, spotty, shiny, furry, smooth, rough, spiky, soft and hard.
Match the communication in print word and image (laminate and cut - I recommend printing and laminating more than one copy- one to be cut so that it only matches the correct answer and one cut straight across for when they get better at it!)
I also match with objects with these qualities for a wider understanding.
With Makaton prompts to aid understanding and language.
Communicate in Print choice board for 3-stage sensory circuit.
Stage 1 - alerting - wakes the body up
Stage 2 - organising - knowing where your body is in space
Stage 3 - calming- calm down and get ready to learn.
Laminate and cut the sheets with activities, velcro or tack on the back to put choices onto choice board.
Students should do at least one activity from each stage (in order), aim to build up to 5 minutes in each stage.
This has worked really well for my Year 13 class this year.
I hope you find it useful!
This is a multi sensory, plain English version of The Little Mermaid.
The story is based on the Ladybird Favourite tales version. It has been rewritten in simple language. The equipment is detailed so you can make a shopping list!
The multi sensory elements are described throughout the story, but feel free to adapt to suit your needs, or if you have a better idea!
I will be using the resource with secondary age, SEN (SLD / MLD/ complex needs) students for Literacy lessons.
The ‘chapters’ are quite short, so each chapter can be used as a sensory story. I plan to do one chapter a week with my class.
The use of multi sensory input helps students to retain and understand the information within the story. For more information about why sensory stories are beneficial Google Joanna Grace.
I hope you enjoy using this story with your students!
